Norwalk, CT-Final, audited attendance figures for International Vision Expo East 2006 showed marked increases, according to event organizers, who released the data recently. Vision Expo East was held March 30 to April 2, 2006 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

"This year, International Vision Expo East saw solid increases in attendance both for exhibits only, and for conferences, gaining 6% and 21% respectively over last year's figures," said Bill Thomas, chief executive officer and executive vice president of Vision Council of America. "We certainly hope that the growth in attendance and the excellent reports that we received from the exhibitors on the level of buying from the attendees point to 2006 as a growth year for the industry."

Exhibit Surveys Inc., which conducted an independent, third-party audit, certified that a total of 15,280 qualified registrants attended International Vision Expo East 2006, including exhibits only, conference, press, and speaker attendees. Exhibitor personnel are not included in this total.

The complete International Vision Expo East attendance verification is available at the International Vision Expo Web site at http://www.visionexpoeast.com/ and the Exhibits Survey Inc. Web site at http://www.exhibitsurveys.com/.

International Vision Expo East will return to the Javits Center, March 22 to 25, 2007.
