The ARVO Foundation, a supporting non-profit arm of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), changed its name to The ARVO Foundation for Eye Research.

The ARVO Foundation, a supporting non-profit arm of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), changed its name to The ARVO Foundation for Eye Research.

“We hope this name change will give a better understanding of our mission-to advance eye and vision research around the globe,” said John E. Dowling, PhD, foundation chairman.

The ARVO Foundation for Eye Research, founded in 2002, provides continuing education and support for original and innovative vision research, particularly with translational impact that fosters collaboration between clinicians and basic scientists. The foundation also supports training for new vision-research scientists, including those in developing countries.
