AREDS supports the use of nutritional supplements for AMD

Fort Lauderdale, FL-Of the nearly 60 million people in the United States over age 55, 8 million are estimated to be at high risk for advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD), making it an important public health concern. However, nutritional supplements may be helpful to reduce this risk, according to the Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS).
