AMO makes changes in senior leadership

Michael J. Lambert has joined Advanced Medical Optics Inc. (AMO) as chief financial officer (CFO).

Santa Ana, CA-Michael J. Lambert has joined Advanced Medical Optics Inc. (AMO) as chief financial officer (CFO). He will oversee the company's finance, accounting, tax, treasury, and information technology functions and will report directly to James V. Mazzo, AMO chairman and chief executive officer.

Most recently, Lambert was senior vice president (VP) and CFO for Quest Software Inc. Other previous positions include executive VP and CFO at Quantum Corp., senior VP and CFO at Nervewire Inc., and VP and CFO of the Lucent Technologies InterNetworking Systems Division.

In the role of CFO, Lambert succeeds Richard "Randy" A. Meier, formerly CFO and chief operating officer (COO). Meier will continue as COO, managing AMO's eye-care business and global manufacturing and supply chain operations. Additionally, he recently assumed responsibility for managing the company's cataract/ implant business and global customer services function and recently was named president of AMO (see Ophthalmology Times, Dec. 1, 2007, Page 12).

Both Meier and Trenary will continue to report to Mazzo.
