AMO buys Pfizer's surgical ophthalmology unit
Advanced Medical Optics Inc. (AMO) brought something special to San Diegofor this week's American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting-thesurgical ophthalmology business formerly owned by Pfizer. AMO and Pfizer on April 21 entered into a definitive agreement for AMO to acquire Pfizer's surgical ophthalmology business for $450 million in cash.
