Alcon today announced the launch of the Alcon Experience Academy (AEA) app to help optimize Eye Care Professionals’ (ECPs) digital learning experiences.

According to the company, the new app underscores Alcon’s global commitment to expanding remote, on-demand education and training to ECPs worldwide.

“We recognize ECPs increasingly rely on their mobile devices to get the information they need on the go,” Rustin Floyd, global director, Healthcare Practitioner Education and KOL Management at Alcon, said in a news release. “With that in mind, there is no better way to celebrate the five-year anniversary of our flagship AEA training program than by making the invaluable education it provides as accessible as possible.”

According to the news release, the launch of the app brings AEA’s education and training resources to customers’ fingertips. The customizable global platform offers ECPs courses of varying levels in 17 languages as well as newly launched podcasts and discussion forums on relevant eye care topics.

Alcon noted that it has a long-standing commitment to supporting the learning journey of ECPs – both in a digital and in-person setting. Alcon maintains nine Alcon Experience Centers around the globe, along with 26 training centers and 42 wet labs, providing access to state-of-the-art, comprehensive eye health education and hands-on experiential learning opportunities. Building on its offerings, Alcon recently introduced its Fidelis VR Ophthalmic Surgical Stimulator, a cutting-edge, portable tool which immerses cataract surgeons in a virtual, high-fidelity operating room, placing Alcon’s latest surgical innovations right at a user’s fingertips, no matter their location.

The Alcon Experience Academy app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play. For more information about the Alcon Experience Academy’s online presence, visit AlconExperienceAcademy.com.
