Alcon BSS not involved in irrigation solution recall

Alcon Laboratories issued a statement clarifying a recent recall of all brands and sizes of balanced salt solution (BSS), manufactured by Cytosol Laboratories.

The recall includes AMO Endosol solution, Cytosol Ophthalmics solution, and Akorn solution. The recall does not involve any Alcon BSS irrigating products.

Alcon Laboratories manufactures the Alcon BSS and BSS Plus large volume (250 and 500 ml) and BSS small volume (15 and 30 ml) solutions that are sold in the United States.
