ACES names its president-elect

Dallas—Cataract and refractive surgeon Jeffrey Whitman, MD, will serve as president-elect of the American College of Eye Surgeons (ACES) for a 2-year term.

Dr. Whitman, who is medical director and chief surgeon of the Dallas-based Key-Whitman Eye Center, serves on the board or is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Founded in 1986, ACES promotes high-quality standards in ophthalmic surgery and certifies ophthalmic surgeons after a stringent process that ensures competency in areas of LASIK, cataract surgery, IOL implantation, and other procedures.
