Understanding of CNS pathology important for unraveling pathways of glaucoma progression and identifying new treatments
Ft. Lauderdale-As compelling evidence shows that the pathological process of glaucoma spreads from the retinal ganglion cell to the major vision stations in the brain, future studies need to consider how those downstream changes can be exploited to improve the understanding of glaucomatous disease progression and to develop new therapeutic interventions, said Neeru Gupta, MD.
