Researchers share strategies for axon regeneration
Some of the top researchers in the field of retinal cell biology outlinedtheir strategies and approaches for regenerating axons in the optic nerveduring a Symposium on Sunday morning.There are several approaches to stimulating and regenerating axonal growthwithin the optical nerve, and neurons have the potential to regenerate.The question is why doesn't the optic nerve naturally regenerate?In the Symposium entitled "Guidance of Developing and RegeneratingAxons in the Visual System," several physicians provided some answers.
