Phakic IOLs offer good outcomes to high myopes and hyperopes
The U.S. FDA study of the Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL, STAAR Surgical)used to treat high myopia (mean preoperative refraction, -10 D) and availablein four lengths (11.5 to 13 mm) shows good visual results in 526 eyes. Thesedata were presented at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery(ASCRS) annual meeting.
