Nidek R&D facility opens in Italy

Padova, Italy—Nidek announces the inauguration of its new research and development and manufacturing facility near Padova, Italy, for its subsidiary Nidek Technologies SRL

Padova, Italy-Nidek announces the inauguration of its new research and development and manufacturing facility near Padova, Italy, for its subsidiary Nidek Technologies SRL.

The new facilities are located in the suburb of Albignasego, Italy, about 4 km south of the city of Padova. The state-of-the-art facilities were built in 2004 and provide more room for the research, development, and marketing activities as Nidek Technologies expands. It will house all the operations, administration offices, sales and marketing, research and development, and manufacturing of Nidek Technologies' advanced vision care diagnostic products. It will include production lines for five advanced instruments and various software systems.

"This is a great milestone and a pioneering step for Nidek and its various subsidiaries in a global marketplace," said Hideo Ozawa, president and founder of Nidek. "With this new facility, we continue our long-standing focus on developing and commercializing advanced technologies in the vision-care industry."
