NAION linked to hypercholesterolemia in patients under 50
Great Neck, NY-Nonarteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), the second most common optic neuropathy in patients over age 55, seems to be associated with hypercholesterolemia in patients under age 50, according to Vincent Deramo, MD.
