Moria unveils disposable corneal punch, new instrumentation for DSAEK

Moria announces the launch of its new disposable corneal punch and innovative instrumentation for Descemet?s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK). The One Corneal Vacuum Punch features an advanced design that offers surgeons new levels of accuracy, safety, and ease of use in DSAEK and penetrating keratoplasty. The disposable, ultra-sharp razor trephine produces perfect, straight-walled cuts. The punch-a two-piece device with a pre-loaded, recessed blade-is easy to set up and is packaged sterile for single use in sizes from 8 to 9 mm.The Ogawa Inserting Forceps allows DSAEK surgeons to cradle donor lamella gently during insertion and release the tissue easily within the eye. The ergonomic new forceps avoids compression along the fold and can be used both right- and left-handed.The DSAEK Busin Glide Spatula and Forceps are designed especially for the "dragging" technique in DSAEK. The instruments facilitate centration and unfolding of the donor graft in the anterior chamber. Their use minimizes manipulation of the graft in the chamber and reduces the risk of endothelial cell damage, according to the company.
