Microkeratome debuts in U.S. marketplace

Kleinostheim, Germany—Schwind eye-tech-solutions is launching the Carriazo-Pendular microkeratome in the United States.

Kleinostheim, Germany-Schwind eye-tech-solutions is launching the Carriazo-Pendular microkeratome in the United States.

Florida ophthalmologist Steve Pascucci, MD, is the first U.S. owner of the microkeratome, according to the company.

Developed with Colombian ophthalmic surgeon Cesar Carriazo, the device was FDA-approved in 2004. The company says the device offers "perfected technology, a previously unknown precision of flap thickness as well as permanently monitored treatment safety through quality assurance."
