Lens comparisons focus of Proctor Lecture
Ft. Lauderdale-"Through the lens clearly: development and phylogeny"was the subject of this year's Proctor Lecture delivered by Jacob G.Sivak, OD, PhD, of the University of Waterloo.Dr. Sivak's talk was divided into two parts, addressing both the fishlens and the avian lens. He reviewed fish lens development, optics, andthe role in accommodation, bird lens development, aging, role in accommodation,and induced-ametropia, and made comparisons with lenses in vertebrates.
