IRIDEX gets patents for Laserscope aesthetics

Mountain View, CA-IRIDEX Corp. has completed its acquisition of San Jose, CA-based Laserscope's aesthetics business.

Mountain View, CA-IRIDEX Corp. has completed its acquisition of San Jose, CA-based Laserscope's aesthetics business.

The $26 million cash and stock deal, announced Nov. 30, gives IRIDEX four patents, a license to an additional nine Laserscope patents, and a license under Palomar hair removal patents. IRIDEX also acquired between $7.3 million and $9.5 million in net assets under the transaction, including accounts receivable from Laserscope.

IRIDEX said the acquisition should more than double its 2006 revenues of $36 million in 2007, anticipating that revenue for the full year 2007 should be about $75 million.
