The National Eye Institute (NEI) announces that the Healthy Vision 2010 Web site (www.healthyvision.org) now includes the Healthy Vision Community-based Programs Database. The searchable database currently contains a collection of programs funded under the Healthy Vision Community Awards Program, which is sponsored by the NEI.

The database documents the impact of appropriate promotion on eye health, provides information about effective approaches for educating health professionals and laypersons about vision health, and promotes networking of groups and individuals concerned with vision health.

NEI hopes to expand the database to include other effective programs from across the country.
