Find pirate 'treasure' on quest for 'Vision Island'

San Diego?Carl Zeiss Vision (CZV), San Diego, and Transitions Optical Inc., Pinellas Park, FL, have joined forces to create a pirate-themed promotion that gives eye-care professionals (ECPs) opportunities to find treasure during "The Search for Vision Island" promotion.

Now through Sept. 15, ECPs will receive a gold "doubloon" sticker for every pair of Teflon Clear Coat lenses (any design or material) ordered from a participating lab. Orders that combine Teflon Clear Coat lenses and Transitions lenses on the same pair will earn two stickers.

A completed Vision Island game board (50 stickers) is worth $125; 25 stickers earn $50. Every entry with one or more stickers qualifies for the grand prize drawing for a $3,000 Caribbean vacation.

Rose Wallace, marketing manager-lens manufacturers, Transitions Optical, said, "'The Search for Vision Island' national promotion is a fun way to remind ECPs to recommend these lens enhancements to every patient."

To help drive customers into practices and optical dispensaries during "The Search for Vision Island" promotion, CZV and Transitions Optical also teamed in a consumer campaign. The marketing effort is aimed at informing potential new patients that they can have Transitions lenses and Teflon Clear Coat lenses together in their eyeglasses.

"The Search for Vision Island" game boards are available from participating laboratories or by calling 888/348-7652.
