Dr. Sutphin joins University of Kansas medical faculty

Kansas City, KS-John E. Sutphin Jr., MD, an expert in cornea and transplant and refractive surgery, has joined the faculty of the University of Kansas School of Medicine as professor and chairman of the ophthalmology department.

Kansas City, KS-John E. Sutphin Jr., MD, an expert in cornea and transplant and refractive surgery, has joined the faculty of the University of Kansas School of Medicine as professor and chairman of the ophthalmology department.

Dr. Sutphin is known for clinical research and surgery, including pioneering laser eye surgery for Navy SEALs while serving in the U.S. Navy.

He joined the faculty from the University of Iowa, where he was professor of clinical ophthalmology and director of the cornea and external disease service.
