Complimentary registration available to ASCRS/ASOA members affected by hurricanes

The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) are offering complimentary registration to the 2006 annual meeting for members affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The 2006 symposium is scheduled for March 17 to 22 in San Francisco.

Those members whose practices are in the following areas are eligible for the complimentary registration: Bayou La Batre, AL: 36509; Dauphin Island, AL: 36528; Mobile: 36602, 36604-7, 36609-11, 36615, 36617-36619, 36693, and 36695; Eight Mile, AL: 36613; zip codes beginning with 700, 701, and 706 in Louisiana; zip codes beginning with 395, 369, 393, and 396 in Mississippi; and zip codes beginning with 776 and 777 in Texas.

In addition, ophthalmic professionals displaced by Hurricane Katrina may use the ASOA Web-based career site free of charge. Members and non-members alike can take advantage of the opportunity. CareerNet, which can be accessed through www.asoa.org, will be free through the end of 2005.
