Careful assessment of expectations helps identify BDD

It is essential for ophthalmologists performing cosmetic eyelid, periocular, and facial surgery to be aware of those patients with dysmorphophobia-a subjective feeling of ugliness or physical defect in a patient with normal appearance1 It may also be referred to as a body dysmorphic disorder or "BDD."
