Atypical retinoblastoma usually indicative of advanced disease; prompt treatment recommended
Retinoblastoma can be fatal, but prognosis can be good if the disease is treated promptly, according to Humberto Ruiz Garcia, MD, and Jose Rafael Castaneda Diez, MD, of Asociacion para Evitar la Ceguera en Mexico, Mexico City. Atypical presentations of retinoblastoma usually are associated with advanced stages of the disease and could be indicative of ocular tumor, they said.
