AR value to reach millions of airline passengers

To help educate consumers on the importance of anti-reflective (AR) lenses, the Vision Council of America (VCA) AR Committee created an in-flight public service announcement (PSA) that will be used on US Airways flights.

Washington, DC-To help educate consumers on the importance of anti-reflective (AR) lenses, the Vision Council of America (VCA) AR Committee created an in-flight public service announcement (PSA) that will be used on US Airways flights. The 90-second message will run on all of the airline's domestic flights and is expected to reach an estimated three million consumers.

The PSA promotes the benefits of AR lenses and encourages viewers to consult with their eye-care professionals to learn more about AR lens treatment. Surveys show that 71% of US Airways passengers watch the in-flight commercials, making this outlet an effective way to reach consumers.

"This is something the AR Committee has always wanted to do, and we are very excited about using this new medium as a way to educate consumers on AR lenses," said John Quinn, chairman of the committee. "The typical US Airways passenger is aged 25 to 54 years, which is the perfect target audience because they are the consumers who would need or benefit the most from using AR lenses."
