Allan Jensen, MD, joins FAAO advisory board

The Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (FAAO) announces that Allan D. Jensen, MD, has joined its advisory board.

Chicago-The Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (FAAO) announces that Allan D. Jensen, MD, has joined its advisory board.

Dr. Jensen has served on the academy’s board of trustees since 1988 and as president of the academy in 2004; as vice chairman of the council in 1988 and 1989; as chairman of the council from 1990 to 1991; as trustee-at-large in 1992; as secretary for federal affairs from 1993 to 1995; and as senior secretary for advocacy from 1996 to 2002.

Programs created through the foundation’s efforts help to ensure the best possible eye care for the public, the organization said. The FAAO raises funds that are used to provide access to eye care for medically underserved communities in the United States, help improve eye care in developing countries through education, and preserve the history of ophthalmology and the AAO.
