Advocacy a top priority for AAO leadership
When the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) was founded, education was its major focus, and advancing members? professional interests was a secondary goal, said AAO President C.P. Wilkinson, MD. Now, however, "the necessity of advocacy has become apparent," he said. Dr. Wilkinson made the remarks during his address at the annual meeting?s opening session Sunday morning.
