The government affairs division will host a new symposium about the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Monday, Oct. 17, 12:45 to 2:15 p.m. The session, “What’s New at the VA: Exciting Opportunities for Ophthalmologists,” covers a wide range of eye-care topics. They will provide an inside look at the “new” VA and describe the opportunities available for ophthalmologists.

Other government affairs sessions include a “Surgery by Surgeons Forum,” Sunday, Oct. 16, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; a panel discussion on the FDA’s application and review process, Oct. 16, 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.; and a “Children’s Vision Symposium: Politics and Money in Children’s Eye Care,” Oct. 17, 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
