Proposed drug delivery system may be viable to prevent endophthalmitis
The STAAR Collamer IOL and the STAAR Vision ICL (STAAR Surgical) thathad been immersed in various antibiotic agents and then placed in a mockanterior chamber (MAC) provided therapeutic levels of the antibiotics inthe MAC for up to 10 hours, according to Randy Peterson, MD, from Springfield,IL.
