Westlake Village, CA-Compulink Business Systems, Inc. has announced it will sponsor practice consultant John Pinto on his month-long, trans-Pacific sailing adventure to support the Hawaiian Eye Foundation (HEF).

In what is being called the “Voyage to EHR,” Pinto’s voyage is meant to help educate and support the ophthalmic community during the transition many practices are making this year to electronic health records (EHRs).

Compulink has signed on as the title sponsor of the voyage. It will take place aboard Pinto’s 24-foot sloop, Aurelia, which will set sail from San Diego on May 6, 2012, and will arrive in Honolulu, HI, in early June. Compulink’s support will allow Pinto to post regular updates as he crosses the Pacific Ocean.

“We look forward to helping the HEF’s worthy eye surgical expeditions and training programs as well as helping John stay in touch with civilization during this fundraising adventure,” said Link Wilson, Compulink’s president and chief executive officer. “In addition to raising awareness for HEF’s eye care and training mission, we see John’s voyage as an opportunity to continue to educate and support the ophthalmic community in the transition many practices are making this year to EHRs.”
