Waltham, MA

-I-Therapeutix has changed its name to Ocular Therapeutix.

The company is focused on developing and commercializing ophthalmic therapeutic products using its proprietary hydrogel technology. It also is developing sustained ocular drug-delivery vehicles using its proprietary hydrogel polymer technology.

“The company’s new name more clearly articulates our mission in the ophthalmic marketplace as we pursue FDA clearance for our first product . . . and develop ocular drug-delivery therapies,” said Amar Sawhney, president and chief executive officer. The first product is an ocular bandage (I-ZIP), he added.

In conjunction with the name change, the company has launched a new Web site,
