FDA approves new B&L contact lens material

The FDA has cleared the use of the new Bausch & Lomb (B&L) Boston XO2 gas-permeable contact lens material for daily wear in patients with ametropia and certain irregular corneal conditions, the company announced.

Rochester, NY-The FDA has cleared the use of the new Bausch & Lomb (B&L) Boston XO2 gas-permeable contact lens material for daily wear in patients with ametropia and certain irregular corneal conditions, the company announced.

Lenses made with this new contact lens material allow 40% more oxygen to reach the eye than the original Boston XO material, said the eye-care company, which is being acquired by Warburg Pincus
