BD surgical products mark 75th anniversary

Waltham, MA-BD Medical – Ophthalmic Systems, a unit of Becton, Dickinson and Co., is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its BD Beaver product line of surgical blades and knives.

Initially designed and manufactured by Rudolph Beaver, the tools and equipment are used in procedures in ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and other specialties. BD acquired the business in 1988.

The products are distributed to more than 100 countries.
