Eva Liang, MD:

Hi, I'm Eva Liang from Center for Sight in Las Vegas. I'm an anterior segment surgeon specializing in refractive cataract surgery and complex anterior segment disease and I will be presenting the outcomes of the Rasch-scaled Catquest-9SF questionnaire before and after implantation of an aberration-free, hydrophobic toric intraocular lens, commonly known as the enVista toric.

So patients generally consider their success after surgery in terms of their ability to perform activities of daily living. The Catquest-9SF questionnaire is a nine-item questionnaire that asks the patient about their general satisfaction with vision, as well as vision-specific tasks at both distant and near. Some of the questions include their ability to recognize faces, their ability to read text on a newspaper or be able to see the prices when they're shopping, how well they're able to perform their hobbies. This questionnaire was given to them before as well as after surgery. The time from after surgery was 120 to 180 days. There were 101 patients in this prospective, multicenter study and there was improvement in all of the questions...In fact, there were 91% of patients that were either satisfied or very satisfied with their enVista toric lens and there was also a substantial increase in their ability to perform intermediate and near tasks. So this is what I will talk about tomorrow. Thank you.
