Virtual Vision Health and VirtuaLens have entered a strategic partnership to expand access to and accelerate adoption of VR screening and patient education tools. The Virtual Eye VR platform from Virtual Vision Health offers an untethered, all-in-one solution with tests for visual fields, progression analysis, color sensitivity, and visual acuity.1

The VirtuaLens IOL Simulator creates an immersive “try-on” experience to allow for better cataract patient education. This simulator was designed for cataract and refractive surgeons to bridge the gap between complex lens explanations and true patient understanding. It complements Virtual Vision’s portfolio of accurate, reliable pre- and post-operative screening tools for providers, creating a unified VR ecosystem.1

The companies shared that the goal of this partnership is to make high-quality, patient-centered eye care more seamless, accessible, and effective worldwide. According to the press release1, under the agreement, Virtual Vision Health will lead commercialization and serve as a distribution partner in the United States and Brazil, while VirtuaLens remains responsible for product development, sales, and ongoing customer support. Distribution in all other international markets will continue to be managed directly through VirtuaLens and its global distribution partners.

Matteo Ziff, CEO and Co-Founder of Virtual Vision Health, spoke to this partnership and what it can bring to diagnostic care, saying, “This collaboration amplifies our ability to deliver thoughtful advancements for clinicians and patients. We’re grateful to VirtuaLens for their trust and partnership in bringing our shared vision to life. Together, we are redefining the future of eye care diagnostics and education worldwide.”1

Similarly, John Branch, MD, VirtuaLens CEO & Co-Founder spoke to the partnership in the press release.1 He said, “We’re excited to partner with Virtual Vision Health, whose trusted technology is transforming eye care,” said “As a Virtual Vision customer, I know firsthand how meaningful the technology is for patients and providers. This partnership with Virtual Vision will help VirtuaLens scale quickly and innovate for clinicians and patients alike.”

Ophthalmology Times covered the launch of the Immersive IOL Simulator by VirtuaLens in early September of 2025. The article discussed how the VirtuaLens VR IOL Simulator can help patients and their families understand the benefits of monofocal, multifocal, and premium lenses in realistic, lifestyle-based scenarios. This includes exploring patients’ priorities and vision goals, such as safe night driving, sports without glasses, comfortable reading, or long hours at the computer without eye strain. The VirtuaLens platform provides a way for patients to compare how each lens type may enhance their vision in these contexts, making the choice personal and informed.2
