Pleasanton, CA-CooperVision is voluntarily recalling limited lots of a proprietary toric contact lens (Avaira Toric) after receiving “a small number” of complaints of temporary hazy vision and discomfort.

A subsequent investigation revealed the unintended presence of a residue on certain lenses, according to the company. CooperVision said that the manufacturing issue has been identified and that a resolution is in process.

The company said that it anticipates that it will resume shipping the lens soon. Inventory is expected to return to normal levels by Dec. 1.

The recall is limited to specific lots of the toric lens and does not involve of the company’s other products.
