The annual International Vision Expo East (VEE) returns next month to the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. The continuing education conference will be held March 22 to 25. The exhibition hall opens March 23 and also runs through March 25.

More than 250 hours of continuing education will be available for all members of the ophthalmic community-optometrists, opticians, ophthalmologists, paraoptometric professionals, and lab professionals.

"Professionals choose to get their continuing education at VEE because they know they will have access to more of the latest topics and most impressive speakers than at any other conference," said Deborah Malakoff, vice president and show manager for the Vision Council of America.

Curriculum topics will cover current topics in vision care such as clinical and medical topics, dispensing skills, contact lenses, glaucoma, management, and profitability. The conference program is endorsed by the New York State Optometric Association and the National Academy of Opticianry.

Courses available exclusively at VEE:

Highlighting the exhibition hall will be the new Lenses and Processing Technology Pavilion-a new destination for businesses focused on labs, eyeglass lenses, lens processing equipment, lab technology and supplies, lab equipment financing, software, and lens-and lab-related instruments and accessories. More than 70 companies will be assembled in a section of the exhibit hall just inside the main exhibit hall entrance.

The Lenses and Processing Technology Pavilion will join several other organized pavilions, including the newly expanded Medical and Scientific Pavilion, the New Exhibitor Pavilion, the Galleria on 3 and 4, and the Underground. The pavilion structure aims to enable attendees to get more out of their Vision Expo experience by allowing them to source and compare exhibitors and products, and to plan their appointments to maximize their time at the show.
