Retina Health Center opens in Naples

A Florida ophthalmology practice has expanded by opening a second location of the Retina Health Center in Naples.

The practice, founded by Alexander M. Eaton, MD, specializes in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, macular hole, macular pucker, and other retinal disorders. Retina specialist Hussein Wafapoor, MD, recently joined the practice.

"The new location will allow us to bring new research studies on macular degeneration to Naples, and allow patients access to new treatments before they are commercially available," Dr. Eaton said.

Dr. Eaton and Dr. Wafapoor are involved in national and international research studies for the treatment of AMD and other retinal disorders.

The 8,000-square-foot building was designed to accommodate individuals with vision loss, including such high-contrast elements as a dark floor with light walls. The practice's first location is in Fort Myers, FL.
