Panel discusses merging of cataract, refractive surgery
As the use of IOLs for the correction of refractive errors continuesto gain increased acceptance in the ophthalmic community, cataract and refractivesurgery appear to be merging into one subspecialty. Walter Stark, MD, ofthe Wilmer Eye Institute, Baltimore, moderated a news conference to discussthis trend at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology(AAO).
