OptiMedica moves to new headquarters

OptiMedica Corp. has tripled its operation size by moving to a new 55,000-square-foot facility in Sunnyvale, CA.

Sunnyvale, CA-OptiMedica Corp. has tripled its operation size by moving to a new 55,000-square-foot facility in Sunnyvale, CA.

The expanded global headquarters building, which houses all business functions, will serve as the base of the company’s worldwide commercial launch of a proprietary laser platform (Catalys Precision Laser System) for cataract surgery, according to the company.

“The move to our expanded headquarters marks the beginning of an exciting new growth phase for OptiMedica,” said Mark J. Forchette, the company’s president and chief executive officer. “Worldwide surgeon interest in [the laser platform] is significant and increasing every day, and our new, larger facility will enable us to scale our operations rapidly, serve customer needs appropriately, and meet the growing global demand.”

The laser platform has FDA 510(k) market clearance and CE mark approval for capsulotomy and lens fragmentation performed during cataract surgery.
