Ophthalmologist runs for Congress

Paul Bryar, MD, an ophthalmologist from Chicago, is running as a democratic candidate in the Illinois special primary election that will take place March 3, according to a release issued by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Bryar is campaigning to fill the 5th congressional district seat vacated by Rahm Emanuel, who is now President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, the organization said.
