Alexandria, VA-The Optical Laboratories Association (OLA) again will hold its annual meeting in conjunction with International Vision Expo West. Registration for the OLA 2011 annual meeting, which will be held Sept. 22 to 24 at the Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas, is now open.

This is the second consecutive year that OLA will hold its annual meeting in conjunction with Vision Expo.

“The theme for the OLA 2011 annual meeting is ‘Moving Forward,’ ” said Susie Lesher, OLA’s vice president and program chairwoman. “Since announcing our joint affiliation with The Vision Council in January, we’ve introduced many new and exciting changes. This year is all about positioning ourselves to serve our members and the ophthalmic industry better as we look to the future.”

The 2011 OLA education program will feature panel discussions of lab owners and managers covering topics including standards, regulations, and technical issues for labs; enhanced vision versus restored vision; understanding e-commerce; and finishing robotics.

OLA also is debuting at this meeting “Tech-Ed,” which is specifically for laboratory production employees. The format consists of hands-on workshops presented by finishing equipment suppliers.
