Pinellas Park, FL-Nominations are now being accepted for the second annual Transitions Vision Benefits Broker of the Year award, which will recognize professionals who are encouraging healthy sight through vision-care benefit offerings and education.

Broker candidates may nominate themselves or can be nominated by a vision plan provider. All submissions are due by Nov. 5. Three finalists will be announced in December, and the award winner will be named during the 16th annual Transitions Academy, Jan. 29 to 31 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando.

Nominees will be judged on several factors, including their commitment to:

• The positioning of vision benefits as an integral part of the overall health benefits package during sales calls with human resources (HR) clients.

• Highlighting the vision wear elements of vision coverage to HR customers, and recommending vision plans that include photochromic lenses, which are clear indoors and darken outdoors to protect the eyes from ultraviolet light and glare.

• Educating about the importance of quality eye care and eyewear.

The top three finalists for the award will receive a trip for two to the 2012 Transitions Academy managed vision care track, along with prizes and office items for themselves and their staff members. In addition, the winner will receive use of the official Transitions Vision Benefits Broker of the Year logo, a staff celebration, and a trip for two to attend the 2012 Transitions Championship in Palm Harbor, FL.

Entrants must submit a nomination form as well as any supporting materials to detail their accomplishments and results. More information and a downloadable nomination form are available at www.HealthySightWorkingForYou.org/brokeraward.
