A multidisciplinary advisory committee at the University of California, San Francisco, made up of senior scientists representing the four health sciences schools, has selected the 2006 scholars for the UCSF Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Scholars Program.

A multidisciplinary advisory committee at the University of California, San Francisco, made up of senior scientists representing the four health sciences schools, has selected the 2006 scholars for the UCSF Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Scholars Program.

This mentored clinical research award is funded by the National Institutes of Health Roadmap Initiative to provide training and career development for clinical and translational investigators.

Nisha Acharya, MD, MS, assistant professor of ophthalmology, was named as one of the clinical research scholars for 2006-2007. His mentors include Thomas Lietman, MD (ophthalmology), Todd Margolis, MD, PhD (ophthalmology), and George Rutherford, MD (epidemiology).
