Lisbon, Portugal - Nidek Co., Gamagori, Japan, introduces its CV-7000 Phacoemulsification System and its Nex-Acri IOL.

The CV-7000 Phacoemulsification System delivers a new standard in cataract surgery, providing a high-repetitive pulse mode for excellent operability and reduced thermal/heat generation. Pro-Pedal Mode achieves a high anterior chamber stability providing for greater visualization and fast surgery times, the company said.

The system also delivers improved peristaltic technology, which provides for a faster (up to 40%) set-up time compared with conventional phaco systems, according to the company. The system’s newly designed, reusable titanium handpiece delivers 40 kHz of ultrasound for phacoemulsification. The phaco system also recently received the CE Mark in Europe.

The Nex-Acri IOL is a hydrophobic acrylic foldable IOL.
