Dr. Demer?s work on muscle pulleys garners Friedenwald Award
Ft. Lauderdale-Joseph L. Demer, MD, of the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA conducted a systematic investigation of the properties of the extraocular muscle pulleys. Through a series of publications, his work has provided ophthalmology a rational basis for Listing?s Law of ocular rotations and an explanation for A- and V-patterned strabismus.
