Bloomington, MN-Y. Ralph Chu, MD, has been named one of the top 10 business owners in the Twin Cities in the Minneapolis/St. PaulBusiness Journal Diversity in Business Awards program.

Dr. Chu instructs physicians internationally on cataract removal and IOL implantation, phakic lens implantations, laser vision correction, and ocular therapeutic treatments. As a solo practitioner, he founded the Bloomington, MN-based Chu Vision Institute in 1999.

“To be recognized among so many successful local business leaders is quite an honor,” he said. “It’s gratifying to know that my work is inspiring to the minority community while also making a difference in the lives of our patients, our employees, and the Twin Cities’ community as a whole.”

The Diversity in Business awards program recognizes 10 business owners and 10 business executives annually. The awards previously were known as the Minority Business Awards, but the name was changed this year as the nomination criteria expanded to include sexual orientation, disability, and military service as well as race.
