Clinton, CT- Ophthalmology Resources LLC recently launched Dispensing Ophthalmology online, a virtual tool to help make optical dispensaries more successful and more profitable. Dispensing Ophthalmology, located at http://www.dispensingophthalmology.com/, provides access to and complete details on two new services: optical production tracking and Medicare post-cataract eyewear education.

Optical production tracking provides practices with a monthly analysis of its optical production data.

Pamela B. Fritz, president of Ophthalmology Resources, explained how the tracking process works. After a practice inputs its raw data through the Internet, "We crunch their numbers and give them a monthly production analysis and detailed sales reports."

Financial analysis by optician-tracks every financial aspect of each eyewear transaction.

Optician product analysis-tracks the products each optician is selling.

Insurance analysis-monitors each insurance carrier for profit or loss.

Doctor optical production-analyzes each doctor's capture rate and links each doctor's prescriptions to optical product sales.

"These reports give an overview of an optical dispensary and show you where your dispensary is succeeding or failing," said Fritz.

Medicare post-cataract eyewear education shows optical staffs how to navigate the paperwork and maximize reimbursement. Dispensing Ophthalmology analyzes the current coding and billing procedures of a practice, trains the optical and billing staffs, and provides a reference workbook covering all the pertinent information.

"We had to develop a way to help practices deal with this complex issue, and my Medicare post-cataract eyewear service does just that," Fritz said.

Dispensing Ophthalmology soon will have a new feature: practice and dispensary recruitment and employment.

"There is a huge demand for staffing needs at all levels of the medical practice and dispensary," said Fritz. "We are developing a complete employment division to address this and will be launching it shortly."
