Cutting instrument in development for intraocular surgery

Fort Lauderdale, FL-Researchers at Stanford University Medical School, Stanford, CA, have developed a technology that can be used for highly precise, tractionless dissection and cutting with minimal thermal damage. The device, termed PEAK (Pulsed Electron Avalanche Knife), can also be adapted for the treatment of vascular occlusions.
