Depew, NY —The CBS crime drama 'CSI: Miami' will feature a proprietary automated lensometer (AL200, Reichert) in an episode airing Oct. 12, according to its manufacturer.

The device is designed to measure single-vision, multifocal, and progressive addition lenses and, in an effort to make the transition from manual to automated lensometry as seamless as possible for users, features a horizontal configuration that mirrors the styling of a manual lensometer, according to the company.

The automated lensometer aims to eliminate the subjective nature of manual lensometer readings, reducing operator error and providing repeatable, objective measurements, according to the company. An optional printer is available.
