Carl Zeiss Meditec introduces several product developments at this year's meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Among the newest product offerings:

  • The Visucam PRO NM non-mydriatric fundus camera, which received FDA clearance in November, offers high quality imaging through the smallest pupil size in the industry, the company said.

  • The Visante Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) system provides clear, highly detailed, in-depth images of the anterior chamber, including dependable angle information-without the need for ocular anesthesia or a messy, time-consuming water bath, according to the company. This device received FDA clearance in September.
  • The OPMI VISU 210 system is designed for the highest level of ophthalmic surgery, the company reports. The optical and technical configuration supports surgeons during all procedures from cataracts to surgery on the posterior segment. With the new Superlux Eye xenon illumination, it provides a white light that meets even the highest demands. The result is a bright, high-contrast image with natural color, according to the company.
